Studio Dialectica and Evergreen Brick Works bring you a fun and creative hemming and mending workshop, where you'll learn new practical skills!Learn the art of patchworking and visible mending techniques to give your old clothes a new life.Bring your torn jeans, holey sweaters, and worn-out garments, and let's mend them together. Learn how to properly hem different types of garments, including pants and shirts.This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced sewers alike. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn a new skill and contribute to sustainable fashion!🪡 What You’ll Learn:<ul><li>How to do a fitting and mark the ideal hem length</li><li>When to hem by hand vs. machine (and how to do both!)</li><li>Hemming tips for different types of fabrics and styles</li><li>Finishing techniques for a clean, professional look</li><li>How to take these skills home and do your own alterations with confidence</li><li>Add patches</li><li>Repair skills</li></ul>👖What to Bring:Your own clothing that needs repairs, or that you wish to hem. Pants, shirts, and dresses that are too long.Optional - your own extra fabric for patching (we'll have a selection of scraps to choose from), and a notebook + pencil.✂️ We Provide:<ul><li>Sewing machines + tools</li><li>Hand sewing materials (needles, thread, pins, scissors)</li><li>Hands-on instruction and sewing demos</li></ul>
