Mindful Gathering Space - Virtual

Concordia's Mindful Campus is a new program that will teach you how to build mental and emotional resilience through mindfulness.  This program is a partnership with the Centre for Mindfulness Studies; Canada’s leading organization for mindfulness programs for depression, anxiety and stress. The program is fully funded by a Public Health Agency of Canada grant. Student tuition is not paying for this program and all part of Mindful Campus is free for all students.

Mindfulness Gathering Space

Learn how to integrate mindfulness into your everyday life through a short weekly practice! These 30-minute practice sessions will be led by facilitators from the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, Canada’s leading centre for mindfulness training.

Learn how to integrate mindfulness into your everyday life through a short evening practice! The 30-minute practice will be led by facilitators from <a href="https://www.mindfulnessstudies.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the Centre for Mindfulness Studies</a>, Canada’s leading centre for mindfulness training. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm and can be joined online.Sessions will be structured around a mindfulness exercise followed by a group discussion on the topics explored. Each session will focus on a different aspect of mindfulness, including the ability to nonjudgmentally observe, decenter, direct attention, monitor internal states, and regulate emotions and behaviour. Between sessions, participants can access self-directed learning through videos, recordings, podcasts, and other resources at <a href="https://www.concordia.ca/finearts/student-life/mindful-campus.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://concordia.ca/mindfulcampus</a>These sessions are part of programming for the <a href="https://mindfulcampus.ca/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mindful Campus Initiative</a>, a new program at Concordia to support post-secondary students pursuing a creative education. No prior experience with mindfulness is required, and all are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

Erin Oke is a meditation teacher and Executive Director of the Consciousness Explorers Club. She has taught mindfulness skills in health care, education, corporate and non-profit settings with a focus on meditation for self-care and emotional well being. She has guided meditating teenagers on iBme’s Teen Retreats and taught mindfulness in high schools for KidEvolve. She also does mindfulness coaching for individuals, with a specialty in encouraging emotional self-regulation.
