Mindful Scribbles Workshop Series

A 4-week workshop series using artistic expression to practice mindfulness.

The creative process of making art may improve a person's physical, mental and emotional well-being.The objective of this series is to guide participants through a weekly mindfulness exercise where they will use their artistic expression to delve deeper into their emotions. Each Monday of the course's duration a video will be released to participants. This video will provide background and instructions on that week's mindfulness exercise. Participants will be provided with printable pdf worksheets for each exercise.Registration Includes:<ul><li>Each week a video will be released that provides instruction on a single artistic mindfulness activity</li><li>Digital activity sheets</li><li>Access to private Facebook group where you can speak to other participants and the workshop leader</li><li>Access to video and material on Schoology</li></ul>Dates: New videos with that week's mindfulness exercise will be release on:<ul><li>Monday, August 24</li><li>Monday, August 31</li><li>Monday, September 7</li><li>Monday, September 14</li></ul>There are no live components to this series and the exercises can be completed at any time.What participant needs to have: <ul><li>Blank paper</li><li>Markers, crayons or pencil crayons</li><li>Access to internet</li></ul>Time Commitment: This will be based on the individual. As each exercise depends on introspection, it is suggested that you take your time. It is strongly suggested that participants return to the exercises at least a couple times a week.Workshop Leader: Alexandra Baker (you can call her Ali) is a Professional Art Therapist based in southwestern Ontario (Canada). She runs an Art Therapy practice called Mindful Scribbles, where she works one-on-one with clients in-person or online. Her mission is to assist those who are dealing with mental health issues through the therapeutic process of Art Therapy. Ali is a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association.Please note that this workshop series is not Art Therapy nor is the instructor a Psychotherapist, and thus is not a stand-in for therapy or treatment of a mental illness.
