Mobile Art Workshop
Overview

Join Dennis Lin for an intimate, hands-on mobile-making workshop exploring memory, meaning and balance.

Participants are invited to bring small objects that hold personal or cultural significance, and will be guided in incorporating them into a delicate wire mobile.

This workshop is part of a larger project leading up to a mobile installation for the South Common Community Centre and Library, created from donated objects gathered from the public. Participants are warmly encouraged to contribute items for potential inclusion in the final piece, with donation opportunities available through Visual Arts Mississauga and Studio 39.

Space is limited. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged.

About the artist

Dennis Lin is an acclaimed Taiwanese-Canadian sculptor. Lin creates suspended, standing, and relief sculptures that explore pattern, material nostalgia, and belonging through salvaged materials. Using meticulous conservation techniques, his practice examines the emotional weight of gathering and preserving what might otherwise be lost. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in prominent collections, and his recent projects focus on the resilience of Taiwanese identity, intertwining his artistic process with a personal reconnection to his cultural roots.
