Host, Ashley Callingbull, is a Cree First Nations woman from the Enoch Cree Nation in Alberta. Model, actor, First Nation’s activist, and reigning Mrs. Universe 2015, the professionally trained dancer, has been featured on numeorus runways, magazine covers editorial - Fashion, Chatelaine, Dressed to Kill, and more. In February 2022, Tyler released his viral rendition of GAYLE’s hit “abcdefu.” To date, “Love You Still (abcdefu Romantic Version)” has over 2.5 billion views of videos using the song on TikTok; over 10 million views of user generated content videos on YouTube; 14.5 million streams; and more than 500,000 videos created using the song.

After going viral in 2020, life has been anything but ordinary for this Toronto rapper. With over 2 million followers on TikTok, Akintoye has said that creating is now his full-time job. His hit song “Pizzazz” become a popular TikTok sound, gaining him millions of streams. He’s also worked on a song with Idris Elba, and has  found his face on a billboard at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. With three albums, and a handful of singles under his belt, Akintoye is a force to be reckoned with.

Influenced by soul contemporaries such as Erykah Badu, D’angelo, Lauryn Hill, Maxwell and pioneering African artists like Youssou N’dour and Femi Kuti, DESIIRE has become known for his gospel-inpired vocals, rap staccato cadences and engaging story-telling songwriting. Over the past two years, he has been featured in The Fader, AfroPunk, Noisey/Vice, Exclaim as well as graced the stage at festivals such as Luminato, Canadian Music Week, Toronto Pride, and Pop Montreal, among others.

Seven-time champion hoop dancer Lisa Odjig says she remembers the moment she realized she wanted to be a performer:“Back in Wiikwemkoong, Manitoulin Island, we had our community gathering … I was eight or nine and I went to our pow wow and they were having the grand entry so, that’s when all the dancers come in and you hear the live singing and the live drumming…and I just got goosebumps…and I thought, ‘I should be out there,'” said Odjig.That was the day Odjig said she wanted to learn more about her culture and who she was as an indigenous person.

Before Twysted Miyake-Mugler broke onto the dance scene as one of Canada's most prominent figures in ballroom culture, he was dead set on becoming a pastor at his local church."My uncle's a pastor. My grandmother is a missionary. I was in church a lot. That was my focus, period," Miyake-Mugler said.The Jamaican-Angolan man born and raised in north Toronto fell in love with singing and dancing at an early age. He joined the choir, and eventually became the choreographer of a dance group there.But Miyake-Mugler, who is gay, knew that his community wouldn't accept his sexuality. He hid it from everyone at the church, including his own family.Over time, he became accustomed to hiding who he really was, even though it left him feeling like he was living two separate lives — until he discovered the art of voguing.
