Moonfruits

Led by partners Alex Millaire and Kaitlin Milroy, Moonfruits live and work on the unceded Territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe (Ottawa). With roots in eastern and southern Ontario, they pen songs in French and English - a reflection of their shared bilingual life - and perform in Canada, Europe and the US for heart-forward music lovers of all stripes. 

2024 was a banner year for the band: Two nominations at the Canadian Folk Music Awards (Production and Emerging Act of the Year), tours in Canada and the US – including opening for Juno-laureat Aysannabee – chosen as pilot artists for Ontario Presents’ Slow Touring Pilot Project, and a 7-week Slow Tour in Europe to cap it off. Moonfruits is the recent winner of the Changez d’Air prize, sending the band to France and Switzerland in May of 2025.

Guitar, banjo, harmonium, and double bass accompany the tender and powerful harmonies at the core of Moonfruits’ sound. Their forthcoming album, Réveil (2026) is a collection of dreamy, enveloping and quirky folk songs that bristle with urgency and invite the audience to journey elsewhere.
