About this event

Join us for this combined classroom and outdoor workshop where we will practice identifying wildlife by their tracks and learn to ask and answer deeper tracking questions and interpret some of the other signs of animals that we might discover, like:

  • How was this animal moving?
  • How fast was this animal moving?
  • What was this animal eating?
  • Who pooped here, and why did it poop at this spot?
  • Who lives in this hole?

Presented by Fiera Biological Consulting and hosted by Beaver Hills Biosphere.

Seating is limited to 20 attendees. Reserve your spot today!

About the Keynote Speaker

Joseph Litke is co-founder of Fiera Biological and a Senior Biologist with over 25 years of experience working across western Canada and the United States, from Oregon to Yukon. Born into a family of outdoor explorers and adventurers in the Athabasca region, Joseph has spent his life exploring western Canada’s wild places professionally and recreationally, and this has given him a deep respect and enthusiastic knowledge of wildlife and their habitats. He is a wildlife tracking workshop instructor holding an internationally recognised certification in Track & Sign Identification and Interpretation and he relishes any opportunity to share his wildlife tracking knowledge, taking great joy in awakening the inner tracker in all of his workshop participants.
