With recent municipal and provincial policies enacted to facilitate gentle density growth, more builders and developers are considering moving into the densification space; however, the shift can be quite different from single-detached construction processes, financing, and planning, and can prove challenging if not prepared. Small Housing BC, supported by the Province of British Columbia's Workplace Innovation Fund, will be delivering a half-day workshop designed to guide builders, trades, and homeowners through the process of building gentle density in existing neighbourhoods. If you are considering taking the next steps into gentle density building, this course is your opportunity to gain the insights you need to ensure success. In this session, builders will dive into five key modules and explore the nuances, tools, best practices and strategies in each:

Module 1: Project Planning

Module 2: Rental vs Sale

Module 3: Design & Building Code

Module 4: Financing

Module 5: Community Relations

Refreshments and snacks will be served. We will provide gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian/ vegan options. Please connect with the organizer if you have other dietary allergies and/or requirements.
