NC BioBlitz
Event Information
Description
Join us on Saturday, April 13th for our 4th Annual spring BioBlitz! Come for the day or stay for an hour and help us identify plants and animal species at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus. Expert scientists will lead citizen scientists on hikes around the property while identifying and cataloging the bugs, birds, amphibians, mammals, and plants. In addition here are prizes to be won and a light lunch will be provided*!
What is a BioBlitz? The main purpose of a BioBlitz is to collect a comprehensive inventory of species in a given area over a set period of time, but at Niagara College we do things a little differently! We still stick to the core mandate of the event, but we infuse fun and learning throughout the day with activities, games, prizes, live demonstrations, and more! Scales Nature Park will be on site with their reptile friends for that perfect #NCBioBlitz Instagram moment.
Event participants, volunteers, and species experts can register through Evenbrite. Species experts and volunteers can expect addition information closer to the event date via the email you provide for registration.
