YES! This will be our 4th year of "Nutcracker Burlesque" at the Varscona Theatre, and we can't think of anything better to bring out that holiday cheer every year!

What is Burlesque?

Burlesque is a theatrical performance art. It is often comedic – after all, the word comes from the Italian word "burla," which means to satirize, joke or mock! Burlesque performers use costuming, striptease, dance and music to tell stories on stage.

Question 3

Who makes the burlesque choreographies in your show?

Accepted Answer

Burlesque is a very individual art form! Each performer chose their own Nutcracker character and built their own solos, including choosing the music, costuming, and building their own choreography. The group choreographies in our show were built by Scarlett Von Bomb.
