Off-Flavours Education

TheCampaign for Real Ale Society of British Columbiawas incorporated in 1990 as a registered non-profit organization in the province of British Columbia. CAMRA BC is dedicated to the promotion and responsible consumption of natural, crafted beers.Membershipacross BC is made up of over 1500 individuals and continues to grow. CAMRA BC members are eager to apply their talents and experience to promoting widespread public appreciation of the many “real beers” that have become available in recent years.CAMRA BCis growing and opening up branches (CAMRA Vancouver being one of them) throughout the province to make it more accessible to all. CAMRA Vancouver is governed by a voluntary, unpaid executive elected by the membership.

We all love great beer, but sometimes things don't turn out quite right. Brewers big and small sometimes notice flavours they don't want showing up in their beer. Learn what it actually means for a beer to taste "papery" or "phenolic" in our June education class. Taste some beer doctored for common off-flavours, and learn why they occur and how brewers can avoid them.
