TRIGGER WARNING: DEATH & DYING
So you are dead.
To quote the lovely John Green, it is “the rare present tense sentence that, once it becomes true, stays true forever”
We are all dead.
Come and let us remember our lives at the Common College of Art’s third one hour masters in Toronto on Friday, March 20th, 2026 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Join us at the Church of the Holy Trinity.
This is a writing workshop.
We will be writing eulogies. Our own eulogies.
For those who are unfamiliar, Wikipedia tells me that A eulogy (from εὐλογία, eulogia, Classical Greek, eu for "well" or "true", logia for "words" or "text", together for "praise") is a speech or writing in praise of a person, especially one who recently died or retired, or as a term of endearment.
In some cases, a self-eulogy is written before the subject dies, with the aim of having a friend or family member read out their words to the funeral mass.
Who better to eulogize you than yourself?
What will you remember? What will you want remembered?
What is important to you? Important enough to outlive you?
The curtains have fallen. The last pages have turned and the candle has spluttered out. There's no need to rush anymore. Slow down.
