Online Voting Roundtable

Dr. Nicole Goodmanserves as Director of theCentre for e-Democracywith a concurrent appointment at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto. Her current research largely focuses on the impacts of digital technology on Canadian political behaviour and public policy. Internet voting in a Canadian context is one of her subject specialities and she is recognized as the leading expert in Canada. She has co-authored multiple academic papers and reports for EMBs and governments across Canada on the topic and has provided advice internationally regarding the adoption of online voting in elections.

Join us on September 26th in Ottawa for an Online Voting Roundtable organized by the <A HREF="http://www.centreforedemocracy.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Centre for e-Democracy</A> with the support of McMaster University, an Indigenous SSHRC-funded project led by Dr. Chelsea Gabel, and the Centre for International Policy Studies at the University of Ottawa. 
This event brings together government Ministers, experts and practitioners from around the world, and members of Indigenous communities and organizations across Canada. The Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister of Democratic Institutions, will provide opening remarks.
The Roundtable will focus on the possible adoption of online voting in Canadian federal elections, what policy implementation could look like, and the steps to be taken leading up to deployment. These discussions will provide the basis for policy recommendations to the federal government.
