Event description

The green economy presents new and exciting prospects for Ontario’s employment and economic growth. In Canada, Ontario represents the largest number of environmental professionals and employees, at over 10% of the workforce.

The continued growth and development of our green economy is the next stage in the evolution of the environmental sector. It's growth is in unison with the increased public awareness of environmental impact. So what does this mean for Ontario workers and employers?

Durham Partners in Project Green invites you to tune into our webcast to learn more about Ontario's green workforce. Our special guest speakers are in the trenches helping to define what the green economy is going to look like as we continue to move toward sustainability across the province and here at home in Durham.

Our first guest speaker, Craig Batty, is the President of Smart Net Development Inc. (SNDI), a for-profit social enterprise which serves commercial, industrial, retail and residential clients seeking skilled workers and sustainable energy solutions. Services include executive search, skilled trades contracting and energy efficiency and renewables design/build services.

As a National Executive Board Member of the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW) Craig is also involved in its governance and the development of its multi-skilled workforce, new innovative business models and smart sustainable technology in the areas of fibre optics, energy, agriculture, manufacturing and housing.
