The diverse health and life sciences sector is aligned with evergreen government priorities such as strengthening the health care system, creating high-paying jobs, “greening” our environment, regional economic development, and successfully transitioning to a knowledge economy. While Ontario has a growing competitive advantage in this sector, government does not yet view the life sciences as essential to our economy.

On September 17th, join participants from industry, research, and services to frame Ontario’s health and life sciences sector as a competitive advantage and help develop the recommendations and
messaging which will be used to form the basis of OCC's on-going advocacy.

We are pleased to present this conference in two segments: concurrent morning work sessions in which participants will dig into the big issues impacting the sector and develop recommendations for advocacy; and an afternoon event featuring expert speakers, lively debate, and new ideas for raising the profile of the health and life sciences sector with government and the public. Participants are welcome to register for one or both segments; your ticket also grants you access to the networking cocktail reception.

Presented in partnership with Life Sciences Ontario.

OCC Members receive two complimentary registrations.  To register more than two participants, please contact, Stephanie Lewis, Senior Event Specialist, for pricing options.

As part of our agenda, we will have four concurrent facilitated work sessions. Participants will build on the priority themes of the federal Health and Bio-Sciences Economic Strategy Table. Through an Ontario lens, the discussions will build on the work of the Table by asking “What can we do next?” and “How do we communicate it?”. They will also identify areas of opportunity for the new Ontario government, and directly inform the OCC’s upcoming sector strategy document.

You will be prompted  to secure your spot in one of the following four strategy sessions after you have registered for the conference:
  1. Increasing access to capital and growing Ontario firms
  2. Enabling innovative procurement, technology adoption, and commercialization
  3. Strengthening the health system with technology
