Open Data Helps Small Businesses
Event Information
About this Event
We are bringing together the City’s Open Data and the Local Economy teams to discuss how best to use City tools for new and growing entrepreneurs.
How can an open data catalogue help small businesses? Whether it be launching new products and services by understanding Edmonton’s demographics or optimizing business processes through data-driven analysis, the City would like to share with you how the Edmonton Open Data Portal can help small businesses. We will show you the free tools you can use to leverage the Portal and better understand Edmonton’s market, from business license maps for growth trends or cater to specific businesses, for example, determining the City’s distribution of pet licenses. Plus, we will review general permitting and licencing processes for businesses.
This workshop is geared towards organizations and consultants who work with small business owners. We know these tools and processes can be complex, so we will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
