Open Data Jam #3 - Open Data For Academia

Open Data Jam #3 - Open Data For Academia

Metro Hall, Room 308Toronto, ON
Thursday, Mar 26 from 6 pm to 8 pm
Overview

Meet the City's Open Data team, see some awesome academic projects that use it, and help make Open Data more useful for academia!

We're looking to make the City of Toronto's Open Data program more... open!

That means monthly events where you can find us (the Open Data team), Open Data users and enthusiasts, and dedicated public servants fostering and bolstering open data projects and usage.

This month is focused on academia. We want open data to contribute to the smartest version of Toronto, and so want it to be as useful as possible to academics and everyone else who studies our city!

Here's what's we're thinking for Jam #3:

  1. Program Intro - we'll introduce ourselves and give an overview of the City of Toronto's Open Data program, how it currently runs, and how you can use it!
  2. Academia Spotlight - we'll highlight some awesome academic projects that utilize Open Data and the impact they've had!
  3. Brainstorm and Jam - you'll tell us how the program could be more useful to you, and we'll see how we can help!

We've got the snacks, you've got the data - let's make some magic 🪄
