Open Science Showcase Event

Open City and Technology, City of Edmonton

Please join us for the Open Science Showcase Event on April 9, 2019.   
Open Science is a collaboration between the Open City Initiative and various academic institutions, including the University of Alberta. The program encourages students to come up with innovative solutions to municipal challenges using open data.
This showcase event is presented in collaboration with the Urban and Regional Planning Program of the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. Students under instructor Darcy Reynard's supervision will present their final projects on the application of advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to urban planning considerations within the City of Edmonton.
We invite planners, strategists, analysts and policy developers at the City of Edmonton as well as advocates and citizens to gain insight on what freely available data and one semester of GIS analysis can do for the future of urban planning.
As part of the event, Darcy Reynard and his students are seeking your input on the solutions they’ve identified.  Projects this year include:
