About this event

This course is delivered in an online format via Zoom.

The OpenShift 101 course is typically structured as follows:

- Workshop Session Wednesday 9am-4pm week 1

- Lab kick-off Thursday 1-3pm week 1

- Lab check-in Thursday 1-3pm week 2

- Lab wrap-up Thursday 1-3pm week 3

You will be sent Outlook calendar invites with Zoom links confirming your sessions times ahead of your training.

This course is for BC Government staff and contractors only. Those who are part of a team in the Exchange Lab will have priority in taking this course.

The course is primarily focused on developers/devops specialists who are or will be building applications for BC Government on OpenShift. The content of this course is technical and assumes some technical knowledge .

The workshop session describes concepts needed for working with OpenShift in the BC Government.

The lab consists of a series of practical OpenShift exercises. These exercises are completed in a self-paced manner. The lab kick-off, check-in and wrap-up sessions provide an opportunity to get set up for success in these exercises, and to ask any questions on the concepts covered in the course.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn the basics of OpenShift, containers and how it is run and managed in BC Government

• Understand how to get onboarded to the platform, including who the people are that are involved during the steps of this process.

• Discover techniques to troubleshoot common issues with building and deploying apps to the platform.

Come Prepared! Ensure that:

• You have Zoom installed and updated


Will be using a Mural Board as a collaboration and presentation tool during the workshop.
