Opportunities Moving Forward

LEAF is a national non-profit organization, founded in 1985. The funding LEAF receives directly supports our vital work in ensuring the law guarantees substantive equality for all women, girls, trans, and non-binary people in Canada. LEAF focuses on litigation, law reform, and public education.  In particular, we seek to advance gender equality by challenging laws, policies, and practices that discriminate against equality guarantees enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, most notably sections 15 and 28.

Join LEAF for a free panel series on topics critical to achieving gender justice!

LEAF is hosting a three-part panel series as part of its Gender Justice Now symposium - and we are making these panels available free online to all who are interested! Join us as we explore topics crucial to understanding the use of law in working towards gender justice. Opportunities Moving ForwardOur third panel will highlight opportunities and challenges for using law to advance gender justice in the current moment. It will feature Fay Faraday (Faraday Law and Osgoode Hall Law School, York University), Raji Mangat (West Coast LEAF), and Megan Stephens (LEAF National), with moderator Cee Strauss (LEAF National).This panel will take place on Wednesday October 28, from 12pm to 1:15pm EST.The link to the livestream will be provided the day before the panel. English and French captioning will be provided. The panel discussion will also be recorded and made available for later viewing. LEAF acknowledges the support of Women and Gender Equality Canada for this panel series.
