This organizing training will give you all the tools you need to run your own shifts, teams, or even campaign! Everyone is welcome.

The best thing you can do for the planet this year is stand up and take action!Our Organizing Intensive training is a great opportunity to learn the skills to create grassroots, people-powered change on any issue and at any scale imaginable. Our training is based on years of experience in building grassroots movements and planning effective, urgent campaigns. The curriculum will leave you energized and ready to create change in your community, while practical demonstrations and exercises will give you the confidence to get a running start!You’ll emerge armed with a solid grounding in the theory and practice of:- Organizing 101: why do we build community power?- Storytelling and recruitment: how do we get people excited about our work?- Building strong teams: what makes a team tick?- Growing constituencies and allies: how do we grow our power?- Strategy Sessions: Goals, Strategies, &amp; Tactics: how do we make our campaigns effective?Details:The event will run from 10:00 am- 6:00 pm on Saturday, February 1st, 2020. We do ask that you try your best to attend the full day training as it is all important. We also ask that you let us know as much in advance as possible if you are no longer able to attend, as we will be preparing materials for you and those do have a cost.We will not be providing lunch, so please pack food! Please note that this training is very much focused on Force of Nature&#x27;s Mission:Transition campaign - we won&#x27;t be discussing other campaigns, although the tools &amp; skills will be transferable so we are inviting anyone interested in community organizing to join us! Accessibility:The space is wheelchair accessible.We want to make this as accessible as possible, but it does cost us money to put on these trainings. The tickets are $25 for general admission and $15 for students, but if that is a hardship for you, please feel free to select the &quot;free&quot; ticket options, no questions asked.If there are any other barriers to your attendance, please email morag@forceofnaturealliance.ca and we will do our best. The sooner you contact us, the more chance there is that we will be able to arrange for an interpreter, childcare, etc. The space is wheelchair accessible. We are also able to email notes on the presentations in advance. We are grateful that this event takes place on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territories of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam).
