OSSCO Educational Program: Beginner Computers

Founded in 1987 as an umbrella organization, Ontario Society of Senior Citizens' Organizations/La Société des Organisations des Citoyens Aînés de l’Ontario (OSSCO) is a network of organizations. Working as a collaborative group of community minded individuals OSSCO is committed to improving the quality of life for Ontario’s seniors. We do so by involving people 55+ and seniors in our various learning activities, consultation/feedback sessions and influencing stakeholders.OSSCO's mission is to support our aging population to enhance their quality of life through these educational programs, involvement research, and raising public awareness of what is important to this demographic.More than 140 organizations representing 500,000 seniors in Ontario are under OSSCO’s umbrella,Through OSSCO's signature events,  educational programs, social media engagement, production of educational YouTube videos and publications for people 55+ and seniors, we keep this community informed and educated on issues of interest and to make sure their voices are heard by stakeholders.

Get ready to learn computer basics in a small classroom setting. This popular 8-week program is delivered by OSSCO&#x27;s Training Consultant Sara Abdolvahab!Curriculum includes: <ol><li>Basics of using a laptop and stay connected</li><li>Improve your mouse skills with games and puzzles that engage and entertain you</li><li>Communicate with someone - write an e-mail or visit via Zoom! </li><li>Recognizing computer threats and scams</li></ol>In-person Class, 8-week program, Date: Tuesdays Mornings, 10AM-12PM, April 11 - May 30, 2023Location: 345 Wilson Avenue, Suite 404, Toronto, ON M3H 5W1This program is free of charge to all Ontarians 55+ Only 4 learners per class for COVID-19 precautions. OSSCO© provides laptops or bring your own laptop. Registration is required via Eventbrite or by phone: 416-785-8570 Ext.223 or by email: Education@ossco.org.
