2022 Carving on the Edge Festival

This year’s theme, mułmunčʔałuk, Taking Care of the Roots, centres on the importance of the passing on of knowledge, through family, friends, peers and culture.

Join Xwa&#x27;lack&#x27;tun as he guides participants through the process of shaping a small 3-foot paddle from a 1” x 6” plank of wood. Shape, form, carve and style your paddle into something beautiful. A brilliant gift or something for your wall at home. This workshop is for novice to intermediate carvers. Bring your own tools if you have them, especially draw knives and shaping tools. To ensure our workshops are accessible to all of our community, we reserve approximately 2 workshops spaces per workshop as bursary spots. The primary intention of these bursaries has been to support Indigenous and youth participants in accessing the workshops. However, anyone with financial barriers can apply. Interested participants simply need to contact coordinator@carvingedgefestival.com, let us know what workshop(s) you are interested in and tell us why you would like to take this workshop.
