Are you ready to paint Party?!We want to invite you to enjoy a wonderful evening with paint, drinks, snacks, and good company! Our amazing member and local artist Alyx Essers-Silverman will lead this paint-along with step-by-step instructions. No experience needed, just your enthusiasm to follow along and have fun! A ticket includes all art supplies plus a drink of your choice! Light snacks will also be provided at this evening event.Materials included:<ul><li>Canvas</li><li>Paint</li><li>Brushes</li></ul>What to expect<ul><li>A 2-hour relaxed, guided painting experience from Alyx Essers-Silverman</li><li>A like-minded and enthusiastic community of creatives</li><li>Drinks and light refreshments</li></ul>By the end of the evening, you will take home a beautiful painting to adorn your home with.Please wear clothing that you are comfortable painting in, aprons will be provided! You are also welcome to bring your own materials if you want to add an even more personal touch to your artwork, but it&#x27;s not required!Covid-19 Safety Guidelines As of March 11, 2022 we are still abiding by the following safety guidelines out of caution for our staff, volunteers, facilitators, and participants.We are still following health &amp; safety guidelines in accordance with our regional and provincial health authorities. We require masks and proof of vaccination (2 doses of the vaccine) and a piece of government photo ID for individuals over 18 years old. Information regarding youths can be found below.For Youths aged 12 to 18 years old<ul><li>Youth aged 12 to 18 can carry their own BC Vaccine Card, or have a trusted adult carry it for them. Youth are not required to show valid government photo ID.</li><li>12 year olds only need to show proof of 1 dose of vaccine</li><li>13 to 18 year olds need to show proof of 2 doses of vaccine</li></ul>

About Alyx Essers-SilvermanArt has been part of my life since childhood. I have fond memories of after school crafts with my grandmother, painting classes, photography class, and sculpting. In high school art became an integral part of my identity, so I continued to pursue it in post-secondary education, studying visual arts at Langara College from 2008 - 2010. After spending the next two years working at various jobs to pay the bills, I enrolled at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where I received my BFA in 2015. During my time at Kwantlen I took a course in Developmental Psychology out of interest. Around the same time I attended a presentation about Art Therapy, which bridged the gap between my passion for art and my fascination with psychology. It did not take me long to realize that this would be my career path. Art has always been therapy for me and sharing that skill with others is the most fulfilling work I can imagine. I went on to graduate from Vancouver Art Therapy institute in 2017. For the last 5 years I have been working at an art focused child care center and practicing art therapy privately and in public schools.
