Kedar Undale will teach you how to transform images into designs and patterns, or abstract them into 3D forms using Grasshopper3D.

Over the two-part workshop, participants will be introduced to the idea of how images can be used to create sculptures and artworks followed by a basic intro to the scripting interface of Grasshopper3D. After this, we will recreate some of the artworks such as the Nelson Mandela Monument by Marco Cianfanelli. By the end of the workshop, each participant will be able to abstract and create art from any image they choose. For this workshop, we will be using Grasshopper3D, a graphical algorithm editor integrated with Rhino3D which allows designers to explore new shapes using generative algorithms.Saturday, November 7 &amp; 14, 202011AM-1:30PM ESTOnline via Zoom (link available upon registration)Registration: This workshop is PWYC ($20 suggested donation). Black and white images with high contrasts are preferred.</li><li>Please install Rhino6 Evaluation/Trial version for 90 days (Grasshopper3D included)</li><li>Please check the system requirements before downloading the software</li><li>A mouse with minimum 2 buttons and a scrolling wheel</li></ul>About the Instructor: Kedar Undale is a Parametric &amp; Computational Designer and Architect. In his design practice, Kedar uses computation and digital fabrication to create spaces responsive to climate and contexts. In his artworks, he engages parametric design as a portal that allows machines to interact with intangible quantities such as animal movements, music, gravity and wind. Kedar has a Master’s degree in Advanced Architecture from IaaC, Barcelona and runs an educational program titled ‘Parametric Thinking’ composed of online and in person workshops on Computation &amp; Digital Fabrication.
