Pendance Film Festival

Pendance is an independent film festival supported by a bevy of great sponsors and key artists in the Canadian film community. We exist to give a serious platform to innovative storytellers and to spark a new love affair with cinema among modern audiences starving for truth and meaning on the big screen. Our slogan ‘Story Over Everything’ effectively sums up our event in eight syllables.The festival was founded by composer Andjelika Javorina & director Robert Misovic in 2017. The festival has seen a rapid rise as one of the world's most tightly-curated film festivals, home to 37 Canadian premieres in 2019.

The Pendance Film Festival's 3rd Edition takes place at TIFF Bell Lightbox &amp; the AGO's Jackman Hall. 
The third edition of Pendance will consist of feature films, short films, special screenings, conferences, workshops, and panels. Pendance is among the fastest-growing film festivals in the world and is a cultural organization founded in 2017, bringing the best of independent cinema to Toronto each winter. 
Festival passes grant complete access to all regular screenings at the festival, including documentary films as a part of Pendance's new Pendance Doctrina initiative, and the very best Genre/Horror films as part of Pendance Midnight. Screenings in high demand will require pass-holders wishing to attend to confirm 24 hours before the event date. Instructions on how to do this will be provided a week before the event. 3. Pendance will host across several venues in the downtown core. Workshops and Panels will be held between various TPL locations and Jackman Hall. Screenings take place at Jackman Hall (AGO) Thursday and Sunday, and at TIFF Bell Lightbox Friday and Saturday. 4. Physical festival passes may be redeemed at any Pendance box office after 4:30pm on February 20, 2020 with proof of purchase. A valid government ID may be required. 5. Festival passes are not transferable. In the event that you've purchased a pass and are unable to attend the festival, please email the festival to have the pass transferred. Once a pass is used, it may not be transferred under any circumstance. 6. Schedule for Saturday is subject to change as long as this message is up. All other days are confirmed. Pendance Midnight screenings are not suitable for minors. 7. Pendance Festival Passes do not apply to Pendance Music taking place on February 20,2020 at the Velvet Underground. Passholders will be granted tickets to Pendance Music at 20% off the regular price.
