PHABC Public Forum 

The Public Health Association of BC is a voluntary, non-profit, non-government, member driven organization that provides leadership to promote health, well-being and social equity. We fulfill our mission through advocacy, collaboration, education and research. We do this work though the spectrum of public health practice, including prevention, promotion, protection and policy. The Board of Directors is composed of public health leaders from various locales including Health Authorities, the Ministry of Health, post-secondary institutions, and the non-profit sector. The Association was founded in 1953 and has close to 500 members.

<SPAN STYLE="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; line-height: 107%;">The <A HREF="https://phabc.org/event/phabcs-annual-conference-2017/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><SPAN STYLE="line-height: 107%; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">Public Health Association of BC </A><SPAN STYLE="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; line-height: 107%;">would like to invite you to our public forum in conjunction with our annual conference, "Facing a Changing World: Transformative Leadership and Practice." The theme of this year’s conference is transformative leadership and practice, an innovative leadership style that provides an empowering system that encourages group members to take initiative, innovate and transform into leaders themselves.
We will be hearing from Dr. Trevor Hancock, Professor and Senior Scholar at the School of Public Health and Social Policy, University of Victoria and Bridge for Health Global Advisor ; and Catherine Ludgate, Community Investments Manager at Vancity.
To demonstrate transformative leadership, PHABC is featuring <A HREF="http://www.bridgeforhealth.org/www/bridge/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Bridge for Health Cooperative Association </A>that is celebrating its 1st year anniversary. Bridge for Health is a worker co-op offering services in social innovation to improve health and wellbeing.
This event will accept donations for the <A HREF="https://secure.redcross.ca/registrant/donate.aspx?eventid=231726&langpref=en-CA" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Red Cross Canada's Africa Drought Appeal</A> fundraiser. Donations will be accepted via cash or cheque at the event.

Together we can create a healthy and equal British Columbia for all
Volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions and/or register new members for either association.
