Is this affiliated with the District of Squamish or any political party?

No. This is a resident-led initiative.

We believe strong communities are built when everyday people take ownership of the places they live. We’re here to explore what’s possible when residents step into leadership - alongside existing institutions, not against them.

What will actually happen at the event?

This is not a lecture.

You can expect:
•	Short framing remarks 
•	Small-group conversations about what matters most in Squamish
•	Space to share ideas, skills, and projects
•	Identifying concrete next steps and ways to stay involved

The goal is to leave with momentum, not just inspiration.

Is this just a networking event?

Yes and no. You’ll meet great people. But we’re also interested in:
•	Shared ownership
•	Clear commitments
•	Collective accountability
•	Action we can take together

Anything that helps Squamish become a place where everyone can thrive.

That might include:

If it strengthens community wellbeing, it belongs in the conversation.

Is this a complaint session?

No. We all know there are challenges. This space is about possibility and agency — what we can build, shift, or influence together.
We’re focusing on solutions, collaboration, and practical next steps.

What happens after the event?

If there’s energy in the room (and we think there will be), we’ll explore forming an ongoing, resident-led group that:
•	Drives positive change through action
•	Shares leadership and responsibility
•	Makes decisions transparently
•	Experiments with more participatory ways of shaping our community
