Policing Info World

About this Event
Technology has changed how we collect and use data. While information can provide convenience when it comes to consumer affairs, it also supplies evidence in the police decision making process. As data-driven software and smart technology become integrated into policing, questions around surveillance and privacy arise.
Though data-driven technology allows for police to use information in ways that can reduce crime, are we making a sacrifice to our fundamental privacy rights?
This spring, join the BC Freedom of Information and Privacy Association, the BC Civil Liberties Association, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University for a day of educational exploration, as we tackle pressing topics about privacy, surveillance, and policing in Canada.
The conference is supported by our sponsors from CUPE BC, News Media Canada, and Web exPress.
