Discover the joy of clay in our 4-week introductory course for total beginners!
Learn wheel & throwing basics and create your own handmade pieces—no experience needed!
You will learn:
- Throwing a basic cylinder: Intro to centering, coning, opening & pulling; how to remove pots from the wheel, drying, and storage.
- Cylinders continued: Focusing on any area of difficulty.
- Transforming the cylinder: Collaring in, pulling out, creating curves / bellies, flares and bowls.
- Finishing your pots: Trimming all pieces and attachments, clean-up (handles, decorative sculptural elements)
All students are invited to an end-of-class glazing night, with an opportunity for community connection. There will be an instructor to teach finishing / glazing. Beginners will use brush-on stoneware glaze.
