Overview

Discover the joy of clay in our 4-week introductory course for total beginners!

Learn wheel & throwing basics and create your own handmade pieces—no experience needed!

You will learn:

  1. Throwing a basic cylinder: Intro to centering, coning, opening & pulling; how to remove pots from the wheel, drying, and storage.
  2. Cylinders continued: Focusing on any area of difficulty.
  3. Transforming the cylinder: Collaring in, pulling out, creating curves / bellies, flares and bowls.
  4. Finishing your pots: Trimming all pieces and attachments, clean-up (handles, decorative sculptural elements)

All students are invited to an end-of-class glazing night, with an opportunity for community connection. There will be an instructor to teach finishing / glazing. Beginners will use brush-on stoneware glaze.


Sessions run every Tuesday 7-9pm for 4 weeks.


Skill level: Beginner

Ages: 10+

This is a family-friendly event. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Parking is available on Victoria Ave East.
