Practices that Harm Children
This event is intended for early years professionals and ECE faculty and ECE students in Lambton County.
Join the College of ECE as they provide an overview of the Professional Advisory: Practices that harm children. Participants will deepen their understanding of the responsibilities of Registered Early Childhood Educators regarding the well-being and safety of children. The session explores the use of professional judgment, and the importance of reflecting on personal beliefs and biases,
which can influence practices that may harm children. Reporting obligations, accountability and
the role of leadership in supporting policy, practice and positive workplace cultures will be
outlined. Opportunities for critical reflection and meaningful dialogue are available to support
application to practice.
Intended audience: All RECEs, ECAs, Child Care Supervisors/Directors, Employers, Postsecondary ECE Faculty and ECE Students
