Are you considering a career as a police officer in Calgary? Participate in the first step in the application process by completing pre-application testing for the Alberta Police Cognitive Abilities Test (APCAT).

The APCAT is a mandatory, job-related written examination. This exam is a provincial standard; results are valid for five years and transferrable to all municipal police agencies in Alberta. Please note this is considered an official attempt at the test and not a practice or workshop.

The APCAT consists of 120 multiple choice questions and applicants must achieve a score of 70 per cent to pass. The exam is approximately three hours in duration.

Practice exams are available on our website.

An application is not a pre-requisite to writing this sitting of the APCAT exam, and the information you provide to attend is not considered an application. A passed APCAT is required to submit a formal application.

Please do not register if you are currently deferred at APCAT. If you have any questions please contact cpsrecruiting@calgarypolice.ca.

This event will be taking place in the Great Room located at the Residence Inn Toronto Airport. Ensure you bring your conformation email with you for entry. Arrive by 5:15PM as late arrivals cannot be accommodated. On-site parking is available for a fee.
