PRESENTERS:David Morrison, M﻿orrison FinancialAfter beginning his career as a lawyer, David founded Morrison Financial Services Limited in 1987 with a view to providing tailored asset-based financing to small and medium-sized businesses. Shortly thereafter, David formalized the concept of lending to condominium corporations for major repair and replacement projects, and made what is believed to be the first ever loan to a condominium corporation in Canada in the early 1990s. Morrison Financial has continued to service the industry ever since.David van Leenen, Managing Partner &amp; Lead Partner for Real Estate and Estates service groupsDavid van Leenen has been a lawyer for over 20 years. Condominium law has been a significant part of his practice from the beginning, but at the time the focus was on acting for developers of new condominium projects. As such, he has had extensive experience dealing with all elements related to developer / owner issues, from initial sale to (unfortunate) construction deficiency litigation. Over time, he has had the privilege of also acting for boards on any issue imaginable. David also handles commercial loan transactions and thus is well suited to handling condo loans.
