Since 2007, the HHUG Housing Stability Training Centre (HSTC) has played a critical role in supporting the Waterloo Region housing sector stay up-to-date and deliver high quality service to their clients.Our workshops are delivered by local and certified experts who know and understand the landscape in Waterloo Region.We ask for a small fee to be paid for some workshops to cover our costs.

PUSH is a documentary that follows Canadian Lelani Farha UN special rapporteur on the right to housing as she travels the world to figure out who is being pushed out of cities. PUSH sheds light on a new kind of faceless landlord, our increasingly unliveable cities and an escalating crisis that has an effect on us all. This is not gentrification, it’s a different kind of monster. The film follows Leilani Farha, the UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing, as she’s travelling the globe, trying to understand who’s being pushed out of the city and why. “I believe there’s a huge difference between housing as a commodity and gold as a commodity. Gold is not a human right, housing is,” says Leilani.We will be ending the evening with engagement and conversation.
