Just as the applications of quantum mechanics are wide-ranging, so are the applications of quantum information. However, quantum computing has eaten up most of the attention in the media. In this webinar, we’ll learn about other related fields in quantum information, specifically quantum communication, quantum metrology, and quantum sensors. John earned his PhD from the University of Waterloo in 2016, where he studied quantum and nonlinear optics at the IQC. He afterwards studied integrated photonic circuits and quantum metrology at Paderborn University in Germany. In his present role, John oversees and teaches at educational and public-facing programs at IQC, including summer schools, workshops, and events.
