Overview

A Cozy, affirming, World Café style gathering for 2SLGBTQIA+ community members looking to cultivate some queer joy

Queer Conversations is a bi-monthly event in a relaxed and inclusive environment meant to explore meaningful topics related to queer identity, mental health, wellness, and thriving within our communities. Whether you're looking to share your experiences, listen, or simply be in community with others, this space is for you.

June's conversation prompt: How do we cultivate queer joy and thrive in a society not built for us?

Join us for an evening of meaningful conversation, creativity, and connection at this World Café–style gathering designed by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ community members. Together, we’ll explore what it means to not only survive, but to thrive, through shared stories, collective wisdom, and bold imagination.

What is a World Café?

A World Café is a welcoming, conversational experience where participants gather in small groups to explore powerful questions. You’ll move between tables, meet new people, and build on each other’s ideas in a relaxed, café-inspired setting. No pressure to have the “right” answers, simply come as you are.

What to Expect

· Cozy, affirming space centered on 2SLGBTQIA+ experiences

· Small-group conversations with guided prompts

· Opportunities for creative expression (writing, drawing, reflection)

· Space for both honesty about challenges and celebration of joy

· Collective sharing and community connection

Together, We’ll Explore:

· What queer joy looks and feels like in our lives

· The barriers we face in systems not built for us

· How we care for ourselves and each other

· What a thriving, joyful future could look like, and how we move toward it

Who This Is For:

This event is open to 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals who are 18+. Whether you’re feeling joyful, tired, curious, or somewhere in between, there’s space for you here.

Why This Gathering Matters:

Queer joy is more than a feeling, it’s a practice, a form of resistance, and a way of building community. In a world that often asks us to shrink, this is an invitation to expand, connect, and imagine what thriving can look like together.

Accessibility & Care:

We are committed to creating a space that is as welcoming and accessible as possible.

· Participation can look like speaking, listening, or creative expression

· Quiet contemplation of questions & prompts is welcome

· Masks and hand sanitizer available

· Content may include discussions of systemic barriers; please take care of yourself as needed
