RENEW Program - Spring 2017

Windsor Regional Hospital Cancer Program

The RENEW Program has two parts: 1) The Education Series, and 2) The Back to Fitness Program. 
RENEW Life After Cancer Education Series: For patients who have completed treatment. Consists of the following FREE sessions to provide patients who have had cancer, family members and/or caregivers with information and support in key areas:

<LI>April 6th: Surviving, Now What? presented by Kit McCann, Nurse Practitioner (Cancer Centre - Casino Cares Conference Room)</LI>
<LI>April 13th: Sexuality & Cancer presented by Joyce McManus, Social Worker (Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Auditorium Side A & B)</LI>
<LI>April 20th: Be Active, Be Healthy presented by Dr. Daniel Santa Mina, Certified Exercise Physiologist & Professor of Kinesiology, Toronto (Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Auditorium Side A & B)</LI>
<LI>April 27th: Eating for a Healthy Life presented by Donna Danelon, Registered Dietician (Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Auditorium Side A & B)</LI>
<LI>May 4th: Hereditary Cancer & Your Family Tree presented by Veronica Bryksa, Genetic Counsellor (Cancer Centre - Casino Cares Conference Room)</LI>

All education sessions will be held from 6:00-7:30pm. Please feel free to email any questions ahead of time that you would like addressed during one of the presentations to renew@wrh.on.ca.
RENEW Back to Fitness Program - $30 FEE: Cancer survivors are encouraged to attend the 8-week Fitness Program tailored especially for cancer survivors. The exercise classes are held at the Windsor Squash & Fitness Club twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm (beginning May 9th and ending June 29th). The cost to attend this program is only $30. You will be contacted to make payment prior to the starting date. Please note that physician clearance is required to participate. Clearance forms will be provided upon registration.
