Glendon Theatre - Théâtre Glendon

Inspired by Rhinoceros, a classic masterpiece of the Theatre of the Absurd, Staging Plays DRCA 2517 will present an “updated” version for a contemporary audience. Eugene Ionesco wrote his bitter comedy in the first decade after WWII, when the memory of the Nazi phenomena was still extremely fresh and, through the play, provided an analysis of its genesis. Today, we go back to this great work to explore reasons for the frightening insurgence of this tragic philosophy. Along the way, we contemplate the effect of modern social media on the collective psyche of the society while trying to retain some of the humor of the original. Before it is too late.
