The Council for Advancement of African Canadians in Alberta (CAAC), operating as Africa Centre, was incorporated in 2006. We are the largest pan African non-profit organization in western Canada, serving as a community hub that provides programs and services from a place of cultural awareness and competency to the families in our diverse community.We acknowledge the diversity of our cultural background as a source of the strength that brings capacity and competencies to shape a thriving community in Alberta. Africa Centre invites you to join our upcoming information sessions on the Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative (SBCCI).Created by the federal government through Employment and Social Development Canada, this initiative aims to provide fair and transparent funding to support Black-led non-profit organizations across Canada.Several information sessions will be hosted to provide non-profit organizations with more information about the grant, eligibility criteria, and application process.Scope:<ul><li>SBCCI Overview</li><li>Capital Assistance Grant and Capacity Building Streams</li><li>Application Process and Eligibility</li><li>Eligible Projects and Expenses</li><li>Funding Amounts and Granting Process</li><li>Application Deadlines</li><li>Other Requirements</li></ul>*Please note that this information session will take place in-person. About the program:The Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative (SBCCI) is a federally funded program created through Employment and Social Development Canada. Its goal is to increase the capacity of Black-led grassroots and non-profit organizations that serve Black communities across Canada.Africa Centre is one of four intermediary organizations delivering the program, along with the Black Business Initiative, Groupe 3737 and Tropicana Community Services.
