Description

Registration for the Sche’chulth - Conversation Series

As member of the Greater Victoria arts community you are invited to attend and participate in the Sche’chulth Conversation Series, on the dates listed below, as part of the Sche’chulth: Decolonizing the Arts in Victoria series of curated events occurring throughout the month of March 2019, that will address the centering of Indigenous artists and artists of colour in the local arts community.

We are honouring the Lekwungen language by using (with permission) the word, Sche’chulth, which roughly means “the empty space in between”. The principles of this empty space are to acknowledge it exists and that we have opportunity to fill that space with our gifts.

This program of events is a partnership among Primary Colours/Couleurs primaires, the Indigenous Arts Collective, the ProArt Alliance of Greater Victoria and Open Space Arts Society, along with other individuals and organizations.

Please register if you are intending to attend the opening reception or any of the following conversations and symposium. Registering will ensure your place at the event. Although you are not required to attend every event, we would love to see you there, and to have the chance for dialogues to build upon each other.

The $30 registration fee will support the events in the Sche’chulth Conversation Series, as well as the Closing Community Feast.v We have also allocated a number of sponsored registration spots for the series. If you require assistance with covering the cost of the registration fee, please choose the Sche’chulth - Conversation Series - Bursary funded ticket option upon check-out.

If you have any questions regarding registration please contact Doug Jarvis at info@proartalliance.ca
