Join Nature@Mac, the McMaster Community Garden & Materials Society to collect native grass and wildflower seeds for use in future plantings!

Event Overview: McMaster Forest is home to an incredible and rare type of ecosystem - the tallgrass prairie! Less than 1% of tallgrass prairie is left in Ontario, so it's incredibly important to preserve and protect this space. Seeds to be collected: Riverbank RyeCanada RyeBluestemSwitchgrassSavannah Grass Event Details: Date: Wednesday, October 29thTime: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PMLocation: Meet at the McMaster Forest (1105 Lower Lions Club Road) Bring/Wear: Reusable shopping bag to hold grass seed!Comfortable, closed-toe, durable shoes (mud proof if you have any)Long pants and long socks (so that you can tuck your pants into your socks, keeping ticks off of your skin!)Ensure you wear clothing and shoes that you will not mind getting dirtyWater bottlesSunscreen/Hat/SunglassesBug spray https://nature.mcmaster.ca @naturemcmaster
