SeeHear-StandUP!

Algonquin College public relations students have launched the SeeHearSpeak campaign to raise funds for the schizophrenia program at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. The program provides clients with inpatient and outpatient care, counselling and a treatment plan tailored to them. Funds raised by this campaign will go towards providing clients with technology that will help them manage their illness and attain an even higher quality of life. More importantly, the campaign and events like SeeHear-StandUp, will help to change the conversation surrounding schizophrenia and work to shed the stigma attached to it.

Hungry for some laughs? The SeeHearSpeak campaign has the event for you! Only on July 18 at 6pm, Stand Up for Mental Health will be at The Royal’s auditorium to bring the laughs to you. Refreshments and appetizers will be served to guests, and there will be a silent auction, as well as a 50/50 raffle. Dr. Carl Ripley from The Royal's Schizophrenia Program will also be there to help shed some light on the reality of schizophrenia. Hope to see you there!
