Question 1

Do I need any experience with computers or AI to join?

Accepted Answer

No. The sessions are designed for complete beginners — no prior experience with artificial intelligence or technology is required. Instructors and volunteers walk you through everything step by step, at a comfortable pace.

Question 2

What will I actually do in the sessions?

Accepted Answer

Every session is hands-on, where you try using AI yourself in accordance with each lesson topic. Topics range across the series (understanding what AI is, turning memories into stories, planning travel, spotting scams, creative projects, and more!).

Question 3

When and where does it take place, and can I get help with transportation?

Accepted Answer

The series runs on Saturdays at Aaniin Community Centre in Markham. Travel support (PRESTO reimbursement) may be available to help with the cost of getting there — ask when you register.

Question 4

How do I sign up, and is space limited?

Accepted Answer

Yes, space is limited (a small group per session), so early registration is encouraged. You can register online via the registration form. If a session is full, you can join the waitlist.

Question 5

How many free programs can I sign up for?

Accepted Answer

You can sign up for as many programs as you wish, as long as you commit to attending the program. They will be free.

Question 6

I am not sure which program fits my needs. Can I talk to an advisor?

Accepted Answer

Our advisor is available to reply by emails (programs@yorkeducation.ca). Please expect 1-2 business days for a reply due to high volume. Your patience is appreciated.
