Missy Hernandez graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) with a Bachelor’s of Social Work in 1981 and from the University of Texas, Austin, with a Master’s in Business Administration in 1985.  Missy has worked in the food service industry for over 39 years, starting in food service operations.  For the past 30 years, she has been in the food service distribution business.  She began her career in food service distribution at Frostex Foods in sales and after Kraft General Foods acquired Frostex she moved into sales management.  In 1994 she began working for Sysco Central Texas as the Sales Training Manager and retired as the Senior Director of Training and Development. As of January 2016, Missy retired from Sysco and now operates FocalPoint Coaching as certified small and mid-sized business coach and trainer. Her husband, Rudy, is a restaurant consultant.Missydoes training on food safety and customer service, life management & communications, and sales & management training. To date, Missy has successfully provided ServSafe Manager training to over 5000 people. She has been a speaker at the Texas Dietary Managers Annual Conference and does many continuing education courses at regional conferences. She holds training certifications from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, Development Dimensions International, Franklin Covey, Brain Tracy International, and John C Maxwell.Missy lives with Rudy in Lytle, Texas.  Missy’s youngest son will soon be graduating from Angelo State University.  The rest of the “kids” are grown and two of the other three have children of their own now.  Now that she’s an empty-nester, when not working, Missy keeps busy either hanging out with her seven (soon to be eight) grandkids or on road with Rudy on their Harley Davidson motorcycles.

ServSafe Manager Certification - San AntonioThis is your chance to become a ServSafe Manager! Join us at Sysco CENTRAL TEXAS for this in-person event. Get certified and boost your career in the foodservice industry. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge. Sign up now!This is a one-day ServSafe Manager Certification Workshop. The class is sponsored by Sysco and will be held at their office located at 1260 Schwab Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78132. Please enter through the main doors across from the flag poles. Note that the visitor parking lot does not open until 7:30 am.The class will begin at 8 am and the attendees are released upon completion of their certification exam. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. You may purchase a registration for only the instruction and the exam or a registration that will include a SS Essentials book to keep as reference.If you have already taken the course online, you may also choose the option to take the exam only. If you are only coming in for the exam, you should be at the Sysco Central Texas office by 4 pm the date of the class.Due to limited seating, the tickets are non-refundable. You may send someone in your place, or you may contact Missy at missy@msflegacy.com to rebook for a different date. If the class is not rescheduled at least 3-days prior to the original date, there is a $50 rescheduling fee.
