<h1>Cheers!  </h1><p>For seven years running, Game Dev Drinks brings together game developers, artists, designers and marketers together to have a few pints and learn from each other's challenges and achievements.  From industry veterans to current students, the monthly event draws dozens of attendees from across the Greater Golden Horseshoe and Niagara Region. </p><p>Hamilton, Ontario is a unique hub of creative industries: film, CGI, game development and animation are burgeoning in the city.</p><h2>This Month: October 23rd</h2><p>This month is Hamilton's newest startup game development company: Sharp End Studio Inc. Led by renowned creative director <a href="https://twitter.com/AndrewSpearin" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Andrew Spearin</a> (<em>Insurgency, Day of Infamy</em>), the company is building an original IP called <a href="https://www.valianteffortgame.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><em>Valiant Effort</em></a>. </p><p>Attend this month's Game Dev Drinks for an exclusive first look at <em>Valiant Effort's </em>prototype gameplay! Hear about how the company got up and running, and learn what development and release strategy SES is pursuing. </p><p>Working in partnership with the <a href="https://www.warplane.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum</a>, <em>Valiant Effort</em> strives to recreate the WWII air crew experience operating an Avro Lancaster aircraft. With access to the museum archive and aircraft, SES is utilizing photogrammetry to scan artifacts for the game and digital preservation.</p><p><em>Valiant Effort</em> is built with <a href="https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Unreal Engine 4</a>, striving for photo realism while using innovative indie techniques of development.</p>

Enjoy evening.</p><p><strong>Via GO Transit:</strong> From Union Station, either take the 16 Express Bus to Hamilton or if taking the train hop on the Lakeshore West to Aldershot and transfer to a bus to Hamilton GO Station. The pub is one block south of the GO Station.</p><p><strong>Via Bicycle:</strong> Ride a Sobi bike to Augusta. Public bike racks also available on the block.</p><p><strong>Parking:</strong> The Pheasant Plucker is literally surrounded by parking. Don't drink and drive,  please.</p>
