A weekly night lecture series at a bar for people who still love learning.
Upcoming Topics
February 24th - "The youth bias in capitalism"
Women continue driving sales as they get older, yet beauty and fashion brands shift their marketing dollars toward younger audiences. Why do companies redirect attention away from the customers generating revenue, and what happens when those customers push back?
By: Dr. Ela Veresiu
March 5th - " What We Get Wrong About Sex Trafficking"
This lecture examines how people are recruited into sex trafficking, who is most vulnerable, and how traffickers think and operate. It covers warning signs, the realities survivors face, why leaving is often complicated, and what you can do to protect and support those at risk.
By Raya S & Mackenzie A, from The Victim Services of Peel
About the Series
Sip and Learn is a lecture series where professors give lectures in bars around Toronto. The goal is to allow people to learn in a social setting, to step outside what they do every day for work, and to access real academic ideas without having to go back to university.
We cover a wide range of topics, from psychology and relationships to economics, culture, technology, and more. The lecture changes each week, but the core stays the same, learning in community and being exposed to ideas you would not normally encounter in your day to day life.
