This is an onboarding Health and Safety training for the new members who are joining the Chemistry Department of the University of Toronto

You don’t need to take this training if you did it in a previous year or will not be working in Lash Miller.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Below is everything you need to know about the Health and Safety onboarding process, including the mandatory online training you will need to complete prior to the SST training.Before the SST Training<ul><li>Read and be familiar with our <a href="https://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/chemistry-standard-operating-procedures-sops/chemistry-sops" title="https://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/chemistry-standard-operating-procedures-sops/chemistry-sops" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Safety SOPs</a></li><li>Complete the <a href="https://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/sites/www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/files/Onboarding%20Safety%20Training%20Requirements%202025.pdf" title="https://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/sites/www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/files/Onboarding%20Safety%20Training%20Requirements%202025.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">mandatory safety training requirements</a> (see page 1)</li><li>Print the Site Specific Training check-list <a href="https://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/sites/www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/files/LM-SST-2025.pdf" title="https://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/sites/www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/files/LM-SST-2025.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">LM-SST</a> as you will need to bring it to the training</li></ul><h3>The day of SST training</h3><ul><li>Bring the LM-SST checklist and meet me at the Chem Stores (LM-20) in the basement of the Lash Miller building</li><li>The first part of the LM-SST checklist (in Blue) will be completed and signed once the training is done</li></ul><h3>After the SST Training</h3><ul><li>Ask your PI to get the Group Specific Training (specific to your lab/group) done within 2 weeks</li><li>PI to complete and sign the GST checklist (in Green)</li><li>Print the <a href="http://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/sites/www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/files/LM-SOP-7-Key%20Request.pdf" title="http://www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/sites/www.chemistry.utoronto.ca/files/LM-SOP-7-Key%20Request.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Key Request form</a> and get it signed by the PI</li><li>Email: <a href="mailto:chem.key@utoronto.ca" title="mailto:chem.key@utoronto.ca" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">chem.keys@utoronto.ca</a> to book an appointment to pick up the key</li></ul><a href="https://ehs.utoronto.ca/training-faq/" title="https://ehs.utoronto.ca/training-faq/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Training FAQs</a>
