Slow Dive
Event Information
About this event
Slow Dive is a coming-of-age queer exploration of embodiment, and the conscious and unconscious histories we carry in our bodies. Themes of swimming and water move throughout the performance, drawing on symbolism to portray embodiment, grief, self-love, and queer identity. Alongside personal narratives and reflections, Slow Dive collages research-based historical accounts such as the colonial roots of the breaststroke, the mythology of clams, and iconic queer cultural references like the hanky code and the first lesbian kiss on Star Trek. Slow Dive will feature live narration, video, and choreographed movements between body, props, and projections.
Part of Intrepid Theatre's OUTstages (Feb 4-13, 2022). See intrepidtheatre.com for full line up.
