Corinna Chong's short fiction has appeared in magazines including Grain, Room, and Riddle Fence. She won the 2021 CBC Short Story Prize for "Kids in Kindergarten." Corinna’s first novel, Belinda's Rings, was published by NeWest Press in 2013. She lives in Kelowna, BC, where she is an English and Fine Arts Professor at Okanagan College. Her debut short story collection, The Whole Animal, will publish with Arsenal Pulp Press in April 2023. Michelle Butler Hallett, she/her, is a history nerd and disabled person who writes fiction about violence, evil, love, and grace. The Toronto Star describes her work as "perfectly paced and gracefully wrought," while Quill and Quire calls it "complex, lyrical, and with a profound sense of a world long passed." Her latest novel, Constant Nobody, won the 2022 Thomas Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award. Butler Hallett lives in St. John’s.dee Hobsbawn-Smith’s award-winning poetry, essays, and fiction is often influenced by her history as a chef, restaurateur, and Slow Food activist. She lives on the remnants of her family’s farm west of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in Treaty Six Territory, with her husband, the writer Dave Margoshes. Her eighth book, Bread &amp; Water: Essays, published by University of Regina Press, 2021, won the 2022 Saskatchewan Book Awards Nonfiction Award and was a finalist for the City of Saskatoon Award. Bread &amp; Water also won Taste Canada’s 2022 Gold Medal Book Award in the Culinary Narratives category. Her novel, Danceland Diary, came out in fall 2022, published by Radiant Press. In spring 2023, her second poetry collection, Among the Untamed, will be published by Frontenac house.Sue Goyette lives in K'jipuktuk (Halifax) and has published nine books of poems and a novel. Her latest collection is Monoculture (Gaspereau Press, 2022). She is the editor of Resistance: Righteous Rage in the Age of #MeToo (University of Regina Press, 2021), The 2017 Griffin Poetry Prize Anthology (Anansi, 2017) and The Best Canadian Poetry in English 2013 (Tightrope Books, 2013). Sue teaches in the Creative Writing Program at Dalhousie University and is Artist in Residence in the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. Sue is also the current Poet Laureate for HRM.El Jones is a poet, journalist, professor and activist living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She teaches at Mount Saint Vincent University, where she was named the 15th Nancy’s Chair in Women’s Studies in 2017. She was Halifax’s Poet Laureate from 2013 to 2015. She is the author of Live from the Afrikan Resistance!, a collection of poems about resisting white colonialism. Her work focuses on social justice issues, such as feminism, prison abolition, anti-racism and decolonization. Since 2016, she has co-hosted a radio show called Black Power Hour, on CKDU-FM where listeners from prisons call in to rap and read their poetry, providing a voice to people who rarely get a wide audience.Dorothy Ellen Palmer is a disabled senior writer, accessibility consultant, and retired high school drama teacher and union activist. Her work has appeared in: REFUSE, Wordgathering, Alt-Minds, All Lit Up, Don't Talk to Me About Love, Little Fiction Big Truths, 49th Shelf and Open Book. Her memoir, Falling for Myself, was a finalist for the Hamilton Arts Council Literary Award for Nonfiction. He latest book is Kerfuffle, a novel speaking spoof to power. She lives in Burlington, Ontario.Mariam Pirbhai is the author of the short story collection Outside People and Other Stories, winner of the 2018 IPPY Gold Medal for Multicultural Fiction and the 2019 American BookFest Award for the Short Story. It also ranked among CBC’s top ten “must read” books of 2017. Isolated Incident is her first novel. The daughter of Pakistani immigrants, Pirbhai is Professor of English at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she teaches and specializes in postcolonial studies and creative writing.
